GEOLOGY OF HYDE PARK REGION

The "GEOLOGY OF HYDE PARK REGION" is a field trip prepared by Mr. Richard Taylan, a retired Earth Science teacher, having taught for 34 years at F. D. Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park, New York. The program is a guide to selected areas showing students some of the varied geologic features. This virtual field trip is used along with other area field experiences as part of the program in the Introduction to Geology course at Marist College which Mr. Taylan teaches as an adjunct instructor.

STOPS 1, 5 and 6 show some of the evidence of glaciation (erosional and depositional).

STOPS 2, 3, and 4 show evidence of the deformation of the middle Ordovician age sedimentary rocks.
